The future of enterprise communications could be in augmented and virtual realities, predicts Frost & Sullivan analyst Elka Popova, who developed this scenario working with a team at the 2012 Growth, Innovation and Leadership Congress. According to this futuristic view, all communications and collaboration devices and applications would feature augmented and virtual reality interfaces. Enterprise communications could take place using three-dimensional avatars and contextual information about the participants. "Just imagine a world, where reality is commonly enhanced with virtual context and where we frequently transition from this augmented reality into various virtual realities, thus living double and triple lives," Popova wrote.
